Introduction

In 1983 a small but growing core group of dedicated lightworkers were participating in weekly meditations at the Toronto home of Maurice B. Cooke, author/channel of some 25 books dictated by Ascended Master Hilarion. Hilarion is said to be one of the Chohans, senior members of the Spiritual Hierarchy of this planet dedicated to the peaceful evolution of the human family. This Master works on the 5th Ray, the Green Ray of Truth.

Hilarion had been channeling guided meditations through Cooke on a regular basis, and it became evident that certain information he was offering along with his words of great wisdom and inspiration had a deeper purpose. Though spiritual law would not allow him to make a direct suggestion, those present all "felt" he wanted us to do something concrete with his information about the power of thoughtforms created by visualization, prayer and meditation when groups of people join together consciously. Eventually, in 1984, this became the nucleus of what was to be named Peace the 21st, a simple yet tremendously effective concept.

Master Hilarion had been telling his students repeatedly that thought is the true creative force of the universe, and the focused collective thoughtform of a large number of people assembled in common purpose is the most powerful energy on Earth for the creation of positive change. The objective of Peace the 21st is to utilize this enormous power in the interest of world healing and enlightenment four times annually, in harmony with the heightened energies at Solstices and Equinoxes. True world peace is far more than the cessation of war; it is total harmony with the Creative Force, Universal Energy, All That Is. On a foundation of universal cooperation and love a new and mighty world wide THOUGHT IMAGE OF PEACE will thus be formed, into which our race and planet will evolve in due time.

This is a public invitation to caring people all over the world. Those in harmony with this idea are invited to assemble quarterly to pray, meditate, visualize or participate in some other peace-related activity on the 21st day of March, June, September and December from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. local time. A "wave" of energy traveling through the time zones of the planet from east to west results. Incidentally, at the outset, after the program had been established for but a short time, Hilarion told the founding group that from his perspective the wave of Light traveling across Earth during the event could actually be seen!

Participation is very simple and members take part in many ways, all of them free and natural. Where there is an existing group, meetings may just be synchronized to coincide with the Peace 21st schedule. Alternately, a special Peace the 21st service may be arranged. At 7:00 p.m. local time a focalizer brings concepts of peace, truth and unity into consciousness in some meaningful way and the group dedicates the next thirty minutes to thoughts or actions reflective of everlasting peace and world healing. If a person is alone through circumstances or choice, the valuable energy generated through their prayer, meditation or visualisation is simply linked with the many others who are celebrating Peace the 21st at the same time.
